ISIS was created by the CIA and Mossad?

Now your clutching at straws, they were trained and equipped to fight the Russians in Afganistan - surely your extensive research dug that up ?

& more recently they have trained and equipped ISIS to fight Assad in Syria.

A revealing light on how we got here has now been shone by a recently declassified secret US intelligence report, written in August 2012, which uncannily predicts – and effectively welcomes – the prospect of a “Salafist principality” in eastern Syria and an al-Qaida-controlled Islamic state in Syria and Iraq. In stark contrast to western claims at the time, the Defense Intelligence Agency document identifies al-Qaida in Iraq (which became Isis) and fellow Salafists as the “major forces driving the insurgency in Syria” – and states that “western countries, the Gulf states and Turkey” were supporting the opposition’s efforts to take control of eastern Syria.

Raising the “possibility of establishing a declared or undeclared Salafist principality”, the Pentagon report goes on, “this is exactly what the supporting powers to the opposition want, in order to isolate the Syrian regime, which is considered the strategic depth of the Shia expansion (Iraq and Iran)”.

Which is pretty well exactly what happened two years later. The report isn’t a policy document. It’s heavily redacted and there are ambiguities in the language. But the implications are clear enough. A year into the Syrian rebellion, the US and its allies weren’t only supporting and arming an opposition they knew to be dominated by extreme sectarian groups; they were prepared to countenance the creation of some sort of “Islamic state” – despite the “grave danger” to Iraq’s unity – as a Sunni buffer to weaken Syria.

The OP by the way is patently nonsense. The idea that two huge organisations, burdened in red tape and government control, could create and control something like ISIS is hilarious. I've experienced Israeli red tape first hand and it ain't exactly efficient, added to which there are probably more anti semites in the CIA than on your average hatstand CT YouTube channel.

read and understand your own source. opposition to Assad is not the same thing as ISIL, so many groups involved have switched sides along the way.

Well you clearly didn't read it then. I even bolded and underlined for emphasis.

You are aware that Comment is Free is an opinion piece and that Judicial Watch has had almost all of its lawsuits dismissed right?

The Judicial Watch link is simply a Pdf of the declassified Pentagon report. The pertinent information in the guardian piece are direct quotes from that report.

Skepticism is good and healthy, but dismissing evidence isn't.

It's not a report, it's opinion which is why it's in CiF. If The Grauniad could prove it they'd run a massive front page campaign and try to start the next Watergate

The declassified Pentagon report - is a report. The Guardian article is an opinion piece, quoting the report. I'm not suggesting that the guardian opinion piece is evidence of anything, it's an analysis, which you can take or leave, - of the report, which you can't.

But it's one declassified report. In isolation it proves nothing. Like I said if the MSM could prove the CIA and Mossad created ISIS they'd be all over it like a Shane Duffy header. And so would the Russians. And Trump.

Go on David Ickes website. There's endless pics.

YouTube has nothing (typical). Besides, you'd be a fool to use that anyway!

David Icke is an obvious shill... I don't really care what people's opinions are, but iI thought I would put this out there. Call me a fool or tin foil nutter till your hearts content!

I think that Syria was a compensation package deal for what the Sunni's lost in Iraq and we turned a blind eye to Daesh because it suited the promise even though it was problematic.

Perhaps. Wanting to fulfil a promise would certainly cast us in a better light, than say, for example, wanting to install a more pro-western regime in Syria to further our ambitions to undermine and weaken Russia.

I have been suspicious for a good few years now, but I am getting more and more convinced we are being totally conned by the whole ISIS thing...

I expect to get shot down for this post but would like to hear what others think

This is classic conspiracy theory nonsense. How do you know that was an ISIS convoy? How do you know that was a US Apache helicopter? How do you know that the helicopter was "escorting" the convoy rather than monitoring it or preparing to attack it? Are you 100% sure that none of this was photo-shopped? Where was this? When was it?

So you don't think the west were genuinely concerned about the rise of Communism, it was just a tool? And you don't think they thought it was a good idea to spend on the military following the two world wars, and what Russia did after the second world war?

That's tin hat stuff right there.

I'm no fan of some things the west do, particularly the US's occupation of the Marshall Islands, and the treatment of their citizens. I don't trust the CIA either, but that doesn't mean I'm going to jump to the wild conclusion that the US created ISIS.

We'll agree to disagree because honestly we'll never agree and there isn't hard proof of anything. For the record I don't think the US created ISIS, but it's proven they provided weapons for rebel groups in Syria who have put out videos of beheadings etc., these are the so called 'moderate rebels', and these weapons would have found their way to ISIS in any battles that were lost.

You said we'll never agree, and then posted what I said. So what exactly are we disagreeing about?
