Can't be bothered to read through the entire thread, but Palace were very much the better team in the first half and were probably unlucky to lose. Feel sorry for their decent supporters.

On the other hand we really needed a Palace defeat so the right result for the Seagulls.

After all of the goading from our resident palace trolls from the end of last season to the beginning of this..
Let's take stock of their season to date.

7 games with neither a goal nor point.
Sacking of their manager after just 4 games
The confidence boosting friendly game against Bromley (2-1 wasn't it?)
The FA cup last minute winner from Muzza
The "too good to go down" "established premier league squad" who can't win a point unless Haha is playing.
2 goals from Benteke
And now last minute heartbreak after being 2-0 up

What a time to be alive

I think a poll is in order, but I sense they are not done just yet, and you may have some further additions to that fine list of yours.

Indeed. They did have a seemingly difficult run of fixtures last year, but basically saved their season by pulling off some unlikely victories over top six sides.

Superb. It's like a cracking weekend where the fine wine was flowing.

You woke up Monday with a mild hangover not looking forward to the week ahead. You then remember you randomly booked an amazing restaurant months ago but the only evening you could get was a Monday.

It's a struggle at first, but you have another cracking evening knowing that Tuesday morning is going to really hard going but it's one less day until the weekend.

Thank you Palace for a three day weekend.

And a seemingly easy run of fixtures to end this season, though a series of "unlikely" losses against bottom 6 teams could bury them.

The thing I really REALLY enjoyed about that Matic strike was the reaction of the Palace fans behind the goal. When it hits the back of the net, almost to a man they physically RECOIL, before the hands go on heads and faces are planted into palms, as the full horror of what just happened properly hits them.

I could watch that all night. In fact I think I might. I just want to drink in the shock, pain and abject misery of every single face behind that goal, and wallow in the despair. Its better than porn.

If you want to win a game away of home in the best league in the world your GK can’t concede 2 goals ... it’s simply not possible ... The team fought back but the damage was done .

All these supposed Southampton wonder-kids who've not turned out to be quite the world beaters that they were touted as.

Shaw, Callum Chambers, Lallana, Oxlade-Chamberlain (he may still improve I guess), Ward-Prowse, Walcott...there's lot of slightly underwhelming careers there.

Gareth Bale obviously being the exception.

bang average after they left saints! game time

Unfortunately they do have a very easy last 4. Two on the beach sides in Leicester and Watford, then an awaiting relegation Stoke and an already relegated West Brom.

At least any points they do take off teams down the bottom can still be viewed as taking points off the other teams around us.

A hilarious night regardless.

Also: Roy giving his post match interview in French (impressively so, it must be said). C'est football, as he puts it.

It would be ironic if they beat Leicester and Watford which puts us into Europe! Second that... l hope they lose to both

Only positive is that Pardew is now 9 points deep in the sh*te and living life very dangerously, anything to see him gone for the time being (some desperate basket case club will appoint him before long but a few months peace will be nice)

Favourite to replace Wenger according to Sporting Life.

Would, on the other hand, be even more ironic if Pardew sent them down
