I was making a general point. The window is so much easier in the Championship, you can loan more players, the standard is lower so you don't need to be so specific with the quality you're looking to bring in. I think this window has been a sharp learning curve for the club.

Loic Remy would have done the job rather nicely!

I understand that as long as there is space in the 25 man squad (e.g a club only submits a 24 man squad), a player who is not under contract at another club can be added at anytime.

They have to have been out of contract for a specified time (before the latest window opened?) We can't sign any player who gets released after the window shuts, not until January anyway.
