Doesn't matter - we don't have to register Brown with the league. He would just then not be able to play for us.

Not that I think we would do that. Would be the last time we ever saw a Chelsea player here.

Clever bit of business by the club keeping it under wraps so no other team can come in for him, then ask for an extension just to cement that exclusivity ?

This is exactly what I'm thinking.

Even if Chelsea did agree, I doubt they'd be happy about it and we'd probably lose all goodwill with them as a result. I can't see that we can just cast aside Izzy because something better has come up at the last minute.

I'd be very surprised if Izzy went back to Chelsea at this point.

Agreed but I believe we had a two striker purchase strategy and Janssen is the upgrade on Murray & Hemed not the speedy striker some were hoping for.
