I did the Reigate 10k yesterday off the back of very little training, wore the heart rate monitor for no particular reason, just fancied having a look after. Started quite quickly trying to get past a few people and into some space and kept on at a relatively high pace (for me) waiting for the inevitable crash. It never really came, but my heart rate reading didn't make for very pretty reading - what am I meant to make of being in the 'peak' zone for the whole thing?

Another shout for Hayling Island, although I haven't done GSR before but As Mr Blobby says, it's very popular and therefore busy.

Light weekend for me – just a 10k while away in the New Forest – but up and out this morning for some fast miles with Brigh10 looming large! Then it's Beachy and proper road marathon training ahead of Brighton...

Will be interested to see what others say about this - my runs temp to be in peak rather than cardio as well

Reigate Half for me on Sunday. Nearly didn't go as I had a bit of a dodgy tummy but glad I did as I knocked 6+mins of my pr.

I'll have another go at editing the table (it all went pear shared last time):

Think I might concentrate on ParkRuns, there are a lot of times bunched around me.

I suspect it can't be good for us! I definitely under-train, then push myself too hard when I do get out. Seems like a recipe for injuries.

I wouldn't try to read too much into it, my heart rate is in that top zone for pretty much of the time when I'm racing too - just shows you're putting the effort in!

Not that I'm an expert in these things, but I have to seriously put the brakes on my pace in order to stay in the lower zones...

Bloody Worthing!
Thanks, although it was a HM..... but it was a tougher course with bumps and hills (my previous HM was flat Worthing) so I'm keeping your "well done", if that's ok![emoji4]

Please consider my 'well done' as permanently on loan! But to own it outright you really do need to knock 6 mins of your !0k PB...............

Not sure this has been posted - apologies if it has. Local 10 mile Road Race from the Sussex Trail Events crew.

I was looking at this one, not decided yet. Not run along Bognor seafront so that would add to the list along with Eastbourne, Brighton, Hove, Worthing, Littlehampton & Portsmouth.

That is it, a 20 minute lunch run and now I'm done until the Windsor Half on Sunday. I even managed to resist my natural urges and kept the pace about a minute slower than my anticipated race pace. Sunday is going to be hectic what with that and the football!

Good luck to everyone doing Barns Green, lovely race. Anyone going for a gold finishers medal this year?

I'm targeting your (current!) second place in the 5k table Curious Orange! Saturday is the day. The way I see it - I'm either going to take both yourself and big nuts, or neither. We shall see what occurs, but I won't be able to Strava upload until sunday as I'm staying in Portsmouth this weekend. I'm throwing the idea around of cycling it from Hove, the late kick off on sunday gives me the option. No trains from that way, so it's either a bus, or bike. Options!

Afternoon all. I dont think this has been posted before (but probably has and I missed it). The site lists all park runs and the elevation

https://jegmar.com/fastest-races/parkrun/

According to this Haywards Heath (Clair on this list) is the 439/458 hilliest! Hove Prom is 15/450. Can Ninja Elephant build these stats into his spreadsheet?????
