Have gone off 'Later with Jools' over the years - tonight I preferred watching the history of Jethro Tull on Sky Arts: excellent.

Anyway, it's MotD now..........Palace against City........ It's going to take a good team to restrict Citeh to two goals this season, eh?

Later always has been a great live music show.
Current, legends, new talent, all types of music, something for everyone.
Just not enough live music shows on mainstream TV now, bring back TOTP.

Really good tonight imo. Foos excellent and a great, diverse set of artists. Snobbery abounds on anything nowadays though unfortunately. I don't care what's cool, I just like good music.

Has been a great live music show. Agree, but 'Has been' is the operative phrase. Past it's sell-by date.

Extract Jools from the show and you have something very bearable. He does my head in.

What makes you say that?

Van Morrison? Foo Fighters? Dizzie Rascal?

Nothing to do with those three. The Foo Fighters are OK, but I don't much care for the other two. It's just the whole show, the format, the presenter, etc, etc, etc. The whole thing looks tired - it's been great, but it had it's day. Like I said, past it's sell-buy date. IMHO, of course.

I do think the whole show is a bit up it's own arse of performers saying 'look at me', just my personal perspective, always thought it. However I thoroughly enjoyed last night's 25th. I've never really been into bands of the Foo Fighters genre, but did enjoy their set. Dizzy Rascal showing what an art it is to do that fast rap. The girl that did the track featuring Jorja Smith(?) was a great track too. Overall thought it was a really good show.

Did anybody see the 25 years of Later earlier in the week.
Bands and singers loving the show and its format.
The amount of talent on show long before they became famous.
The amount of legends that have appeared over the years.
Trying to think but there has not been a show like this since The Old Grey Whistle Test, maybe The Tube.
