I largely agree but the point is not just the police. If you read the post it is all the emergency services. What would happen if there was a crush to get away from a fight or a fire from a flare. I'm not saying Police are necessary for every game but I am saying it's staggering they got a safety certificate if police, fire and ambulance cannot properly co-ordinate

there's some technical/political details that aren't being reported or not in the public domain over that Airwave business. as shown last night, they can deploy Police if they wish to.

The joke is that when it was used for the Olympics it had the necessary communications apparatus in there, it was removed to turn it into a football stadium....

There seems to be trouble every home game at 'London Stadium now. From some of comments and stories on this thread, the trouble is not always reported.
I personally feel The FA should step in and investigate all the recent troubles, even last season West Hams fans attacked the Manchester United team bus and nothing was done.

Well, I dunno about being renowned for producing great football teams - the "West Ham way" has always been a bit of a myth as far as I'm concerned, as Allardyce once rightly said. But they ARE a proud and important club in English football, which has a rich tradition and history, and has always been in the upper echelons of the game. They have a fanatical support, they (had) a great stadium, they've produced some brilliant, iconic, world class players and have had a modicum of success in the past.

So for Brady to breeze in with her porn baron mates, waved a wand, and declare that she's instilled a "culture" at West Ham...and then blather on about how great their "brand values" are now that she's there, it just beggars belief. If I was a West Ham fan, I would be in utter despair at what they've done to that club, and what they are doing.

They threw coins at a group of opposing supporters and that group contained children. That's clearly very poor form on any level.

However subtle the difference, I just don't like the narrative that people were intentionally trying to hit a child, because I don't believe they were.

And as for his comment about 'collecting and keeping the coins because he wants to take this further', what an utter tool. Needs to take a long hard look in the mirror.

Unsure, I didn't really see the child, only the father on BBC Breakfast. Mid 40's, grey collar length hair, specs, looked like he might work in an office, fitted the stereotypical 'new fan' image perhaps.

Very specifically I posted that the Chelsea fan on the radio complained that his daughter had coins thrown at her. Not that it was intentional. I'd have no way of knowing, not having been there. Having a good mate who lost an eye to a coin I find it out of order whoever is throwing or receiving.

Correct that he put his daughter at the game, sure to be a tense one but not that he put her in the firing line. The lads "kicking off" created the firing line, not him. It's a difficult choice as a parent. My boy is the same age, nine, and I don't take him to home evening games because of school. I certainly wouldn't take him to an evening away game where the ground was a mile from the nearest public transport before getting up early to get on tv and radio. However, he's already excited about the prospect of us going up and one of the main reasons is the number of big games possible. Arsenal, Chelsea, West Ham, Spurs and, of course, Palace. I hope no one on here would suggest that taking him to one of those grounds would be dangerous parenting?
