Outside of the top six, only Everton and Leicester have strikers who have scored more goals than Glenn Murray this season:

Gross has also scored 4 goals.
We are not scoring enough goals as a team and we need recruits to challenge for places, but let's not slag off players who are performing above most pundit's expectations.
Yes - I made this point on another thread a while ago. The other thing is that Murray's 'minutes per goal' is pretty good as well - as is his percentage of shots on target. Trouble is, he can't play all the minutes anymore, so we can't make best use of that. The main problem, as you say, is the back up scorers.

Worrying stat is that Middlesbrough went down due to the failure to score goals, they had scored 1 more than us at the 22 game point last season.
Many points did they have though?

Interestingly, Burnley and Watford who both finished on 40pts had 24pts and 26pts at this stage of the season
