It's obviously Leicester Twats, but I'm struggling with how half of the first part is established:

"Left down river to sea"... so that provides L and "est"uary, but everything else?

No I know that bit, that was easy! I meant the rest of "Left down river to sea", from which I only derived "L" and "est"

I'll refer you to the OP to answer that mystery!

Sorry everyone that's me being stupid it is indeed Portsmouth Twats. .(10,5 stupid me)

Left is PORT
River to sea - river MOUTH
Down river can mean shit - like Portsmouth, also Portsmouth despite giving it large were not promoted last season, they were "left down"
Skin emblems , tattoos, TATS.
Sunset point is West W. So TWATS.
Also Portsmouth is a bit full of racists (skins) and people with bad tattoos.

Well played everyone despite my inability to count letters.

In a proper cryptic crossword clue, the synonym for the answer is either at the beginning or the end - rather than just word play.

So if it is 'Portsmouth Twats' (should it be '10, 5'...?), the clue should read 'Dickheads who are left down to sea...'.

Including a synonym somewhere is classic though not essential. I think there are enough layers of meaning in there to allow this in this instance. Though you're right I can't count.

I'm wondering if 'L-Ouse = Loose' could have something to do with the answer.

Probably not though.

However, 'bar of soap (6,6)' is my favourite cryptic crossword clue of all-time.

Bar of soap - that’s the two nuns in the bath joke innit?

As in - First nun : “Where’s the soap?”

Second nun : “Yes, it does.”

I would have though the English king turning the tide would be C n u t. (Apparently I can't write the name of a king down properly without it being asterisked out..) No idea what the anagram of his name would be though...

If the answer is Pompey are dicks, I would suggest the clue:

Roman emperor with disturbed area, without a supporters bar, leads to what all Albion supporters know.
