Even if he costs 10m quid who cares as long as we get promoted. 10m payout for a 120m premier league jackpot, bit of a no brainer really.

Indeed, sadly there is no guarantee of promotion. If there was I daresay we (well Uncle Tone) would have gone REALLY large when Gustavo or Oscar was in charge,

I'm still confused.

Are we signing Miller Bolanos or Miler Bolaños? Or are we signing both? Maybe one for €10 million (which I heard was about £7 million), and the other for £700 million (which is about 26.6 trillion Ecuadorean sucres, and might explain why they want payment in Euros)?

But where does Milan Baros come into all this?

I see this kind of argument a lot - 10m for 120m - I think it overlooks the other costs that might be involved!

Plus it overlooks the fact that the gamble might not work.

Never mind, it's Tony's money, plenty more where that came from :)

Just as long as they don't put up the price of the pies

Sorry if it is too difficult for you to understand I took the 8 zeros to mean 7million pounds (6 zeros) and no pence hence 8 zeros. Is that clear enough or you?
Which was the point we were making - you were trying to correct someone because you thought they were correct. They said (according to you) it was £7m. You said that it wasn't, it was £7m.

Do you not think we were keeping our powder dry to see what happened with FFP, and now that we've seen that it's all a big load of bollocks that we're starting to really spend?

€10,000,000.00 is only just over £7000,000,00 sounds a bit better.

That definitely shows, by the commas as 700m I was pointing out that the last two zeros showed no pence but should have been precced by a full stop to show it s obviously it wasnt 700m. I think it is best let the matter drop now £7m or not I think it is a smokescreen for somebodyu else who we are going to buy.

A better one? Just having one would be a start!

Things have improved on that front since Murphy has taken over. Not that it couldn't get better.

Stephens can actually put an absolute worldy of a free kick in there (like Ips away), the issue is he's so inconsistent! At least he tends to put the ball in at pace with some bend (admittedly often straight to the first man), whereas we used to do those horrid 'floaty' free kicks and corners which are hard to attack / get power on to...

So when I asked if you seriously thought something thought it worked out as £700m, why did you say you read it as £7m? Hole and digging spring to mind.

Yup. Agree with all this. The problem is that Stephens seems to have become more 'inconsistent', by which I mean they crop up once in a blue moon, whereas corners that hit the first man are ten-a-penny.
I also agree with ben'sGrandad that Holla's the best set-piece specialist at the club -- remember those goals Dunk scored in the first half of last season? most were taken by Holla -- but that's not a rationale for his inclusion in the squad, let alone the team. It may be a rationale for really focusing on how good any 'second striker' (as in competition for Baldock) is at set-pieces when drawing up, and ordering, a shortlist.
