Engelbert Humperdinck Release Me. Kept The Beatles Penny Lane/Strawberry Fields Forever off Number One. And while I'm at it, The Green Green Grass of Home by Tom Jones. And anything else for that matter by those two.

Blimey, where do I start? Probably with number ones I love, they would be quicker to list

Dirge of Kintyre or Hey Jude are two that would be up there if I had to choose.

Having perused this list I can only conclude you are lactose intolerant as it consists almost entirely of cheese.

This appalling heap of shite prevented a true classic from getting to No 1

https://youtu.be/sFacWGBJ_cs

This did however allow me to contribute an entry to the Viz Profanisaurus

'Vienna': (1) A single released by Ultravox in 1981 that was kept off the top spot in the charts for a month mainly by the Joe Dolce novelty song 'Shaddup Your Face'. (2) A satisfyingly massive dump that refuses to move despite endless flushing, prodding with a stick or semtex. A non-moving number two.

I know it's subjective but some of you have deeply questionable taste in music. Having said that and I know it didn't get to number one but I truly cannot understand what anyone sees in indie also rans The Killers and the dirge that will not die that is Mr Brightside
