I know a lot of my favourite posters IRL so that would make it a "who's my favourite friend" so I'm missing all of them out - the list would be too long anyway and as EP and Bozza are two of them I'd also be accused of mod favouritsm.
Instead I'd like to thank [MENTION=21158]Weststander[/MENTION] for the mention and join in the general agreement that he and Lamie are extremely decent posters who I'm not aware of having met.
But for me it's some of the threads on here, rather than the posters, that I really would like to pay tribute to. The Official Running Thread is not for everyone but through it I've met a ton of really decent, genuinely nice, people. I've also lost about four stone, set PBs at five official distances, run a marathon and got myself out of the house and exercising even when my body or mind has been at the point of absolute refusal.
The restaurant thread has provided accurate testimonials to many local eateries as well as some decent all round foodie tips and debate. Bell Cheeses in the Office remains intermittently hilarious. The Friday night drinking threads have yielded a couple of genuine beer tips.
What these threads have is an unwritten "no binfests" rule and a number of common posters from different sides of the football and politics debates who can at least agree on other things. And, at times, some genuinely good and entertaining writing.
It would be remiss, however, to leave without mentioning that "Soyboy" is one of the worst (as in cringworthy) insults known to the internet - and it is JUST the internet, you'd never call someone that to their face - and was first used on here by the sadly missed (by no one) Looney to mass derision. So there.
