Chris Hughton on both 5Live and Talkshite got tons of praise. It was noted as a positive that Brighton with a similar squad to Hudd's went for the FAC top, whereas Wagner in effect threw both cup competitions away in their quest for PL safety.

I think our cup run is evidence that our squad is stronger than Huddersfield's and other's, if not on paper, then certainly on application. Chris did make big changes and generally started a full second string with just Stephens and Propper playing a half each in most cup games because of Sidwell's injury. Murray's goals generally came from substitute appearances. The squad players did well in those games. All looked like they saw the games as an opportunity, rather than a chore. It will be really important to replace departing players like Uwe with people with the same attitude, leadership qualities and professionalism. This is one of our strengths and needs to be maintained.
