Recall back then some German students had to barricaded in at night club in West Street (think it was the Pink Coconut)

Was anyone on here there? Seem to recall it all kicked off

I was. Thanks for remembering. Yeah, quite simply most shop windows got put in. The decent clothes stores in the lanes got looted. Police trying to stop it but outnumbered, no cctv I those days, so if you weren’t nicked at the time you were ok. Not saying it was right but I was younger then.

I think there will be much more general fun and disorder if we win rather than lose. We are so used to losing now I think everyone will shrug their shoulders and plod on home. If we win it becomes last day at secondary school scenario where everyone loses the plot - which will be 100 times better/worse if we actually win the thing on Sunday.

Wonderful times.

In those days most VW's had no badges on them anyway. Anti climb paint on the grill on my Golf Gti kept people off it

Must admit its one thing I'm dreading about this campaign many people are too stupid to know how to celebrate and many are still even more stupid if we lose. Last few years we've been crap so getting knocked out has been less noticeable but this year its very different. Tonight and (if we win) Sunday has all the makings of a complete embarrassment for the UK
