No not Charles Horton or Mick Cash unfortunately but the a driver on the Uckfield line last night.

Turns out the operational incident they speak of was that the driver left the station without the guard on board. He got to Buxted and realised what he had done as there was no one to open the doors.

Knackered the service for the rest of the evening. Last two trains home were cancelled. 2 terminated at Crowborough leaving Uckfield and Buxted passengers stranded causing them to revolt against Southern and refuse to let the train leave by leaning against it.

Huge balls up on a line that can't run DOO currently. Driver obviously forgot that fact and thought he was ok to dispatch the train himself. Given the line is single track in places and has already suffered one fatal disaster on it its worrying that in this day and age things like this can happen.
