It's traction control. It should light up, then go out after a few seconds. If it stays on, get the car into a dealership - might be as simple as a burnt out wire, could be the road-speed sensor is not working.

Only if I planned not to need to stop really quickly in an emergency. Traction Control is what enables the car to change it's power for grip on the roads. Really useful in wet/icy conditions, really clever system. You can turn it off and drive without it, but I would suggest getting into a dealer as soon as possible.

Traction control is for Grannies (although very useful for the huge amount of snow days we have here in the UK)

I'd ask Zef for his opinion, but a) I'd get scoffed at and b) He's in the workshop working on the race car!

Clutches are for faggots as well. If you can't change gear based on the sound of the engine, you shouldn't be on the road.

As for windscreen wipers and heaters - pah! I could never understand why we went to those silly flashy indicators, there was nothing wrong with the little "flipout" sidearms.

Traction control is handy in certain places, it's a good tech advance, but has limited used in the UK. It's worth getting a problem sorted out because it may be a symptom of a problem in the wiring loop, or a fuse rating / computer unit problem.
