Albion close on striker
by Andy Naylor

Albion expect to strengthen their strike force with at least one and possibly two new signings before the transfer deadline at midnight tomorrow.

Manager Mark McGhee revealed: "There are specific targets we have decided to move on and are pursuing."

The Seagulls' main target is thought to be a young forward untried at Championship level but with experience with a League One club.

Albion hope to buy him for a modest fee before tomorrow night's home game against Burnley.

That will drop Mark McCammon further down the pecking order and increase the likelihood of him leaving in a loan deal.

McCammon trained with Watford last week but they have not expressed an interest in signing him.

Goalkeeper Wayne Henderson and front man Colin Kazim-Richards both resume training today and are in contention to start against Burnley.

Henderson has been nursing a sore back and Kazim-Richards a knee injury.

Albion's FA Youth Cup fifth round tie away to Blackburn has been confirmed for Ewood Park on Wednesday February 8 after Rovers were knocked out of the FA Cup at West Ham on Saturday.

Marvellous, a player who is no more proven that Leon, and no left back that we have been promised

Trying to be optimistic, this doesn't necessarily mean he is being signed from a League One club - could be a Premier or Championship player who has been out on loan to a League One club.
