[Albion] Talk Sport

Rightly or wrongly it’s my station of choice in the car. But two instances of very poor journalism....

Sunday, driving back from my weekend in Macnhester the presenters were discussing Matty Ryans performance between the sticks.

Today, there is a debate about a lack of opportunities for home grown managers to advance their careers to the Prem (debate instigated by the Hudds appointment) and went on to list the English Premier League managers and included our Chris on the list!

What do you expect?

Yesterday they had Redknapp on with Brazil both moaning about Huddersfield going for the German coach rather than an English one as he wouldn’t know the championship. Well it didn’t do Wagner any harm before and Bielsa and Falke seem to be doing ok this year!

Unsurprisingly Warnock is also a regular contributor. Bunch of ignorant brexit supporting gammons, football dinosaurs.

Well he was born in England and has always lived in England.

The one big success story on TalkSport is Jim White, it appears we can’t get enough of him as his listener figures go up and up.

For one who apparently detests it, you seem to be fairly well up to date with its contents!

Don't listen to talk shite unless you plan to drive yourself to an early grave. This is 1970s Sun journalism writ large. **** the facts, let's have controversy and firm convictions. Patronising bollocks.

Why anyone listens to TalkBollocks amazes me.

Agreed. Just the vibe, heard from a distance, sets my teeth on edge. So 1980s, with a bit of 2000s 'get involved' mantra to drag you to their subsidiary gambling and porn web sites. Caters for the lazy and stupid.

I listen to it sometimes, more as background than anything else. Ultimately it's just like listening to a crowd of football fans in a pub - some spouting rubbish, some less so. Even occasionally some you agree with. If you just accept it as what it is, fine, but if it's not your cup of tea - well, there are controls on the radio.........

I listen to Talk Sport from time to time, purely because I’ve reached that stage in my life where I’ve stopped liking current music. I think if you accept it for what it is and take it with a pinch of salt then for the most part it’s just about passable radio.

That said, Brazil is a terrible pundit who’s knowledge of the modern game is absolutely laughable. Still, given the excessive, sponging lifestyle he seems to live I suspect he won’t be doing it for much longer. How does a former professional athlete let himself get into this state?

Used to be mine too, but now every time I go there it seems to be Kermit and Mayo's f***in' Film Review, or a repeat of it, and I have to rapidly dive for the controls before I decide to crash headlong into an on-coming truck because I've just lost the will to carry on living!

I caught a bit of Big Fat Sam today bemoaning the lack of English managers getting a job. Whilst there's a point there that the new Huddersfield managers appointment is a bit leftfield, I'd argue the reasons the likes of Chris Wilder and maybe Lee Johnson aren't in the PL is that BFS, Pards, Redknapp, Hughes and Pulis would fill any job going at the expense of someone up and coming due to the lack of imagination of Premier League chairman.

What he really meant was that none of his mates have a job, they've all been found out and they all moan about it over a pint of wine.

Ah. I love the film review. Commode is great. And he's a Comsat Angels fan. Different strokes, eh? :lolol:
