Disagree with many likes above for ITV bores - Tyldesley, Hoddle and Dixon. All shockingly crap in their roles. If the legend Martin Tyler is a 9 out of 10, Tyldesley is a zero. Dixon is simply drab, says nothing of note.

It was great a few years back when Robbie Earle disappeared from ITV. A journeyman footballer who somehow stole a media living on Champions League nights. How did that happen?

Danny Murphy the master of ****wittery.

Murphy, perched intently on the edge of his seat, chin jutted, brow furrowed, fingers interlaced, the entire world turning grey in the perma-drizzle vortex that surrounds him, went onto posit that Bruce has also “made a rod for his own back” because he used to manager Sheffield United (?).

What annoys me is that some pundits and commentators genuinely don't understand some of the rules - especially the precise intricacies of the offside rule as it exists right now. It isn't very hard to learn and understand it fully, regardless of whether you agree with its various foibles. Case in point - that idiot Jonathon Pearce who keeps moaning when the linesman waits for the player to touch the ball (or make a play for it) it before raising the flag. If only he understood the offside rule, he'd know why. Also Lawro, who obviously has a 20 year old rule book, going by his comments.

If you're being paid a fortune to offer an expert opinion - they could at least make the effort to learn the rules.
