And not mentioning the word Brighton, talking instead about going to England. That grated me a bit. Not that I want him to announce he's lifelong Albion fan, but at least demonstrate you've been on the public relations course.

WTF is going on? "My dream is to play for Boca"

That's not something you come out with when you've yet to kick a ball for the club that forked out $10 million for you.

Not winning himself many fans here in Sussex.

No he's right. What possible comparison is there between a Sheffield United team who have just managed to get promotion from the Championship and us, almost two seasons into playing in the Premier League?

Speaking to sensible United fans up here, they know that they will need MUCH more quality in the PL as their style of play will soon get found out and nullified against much better teams than Ipswich, Sheffield Wednesday [emoji23] et al.

So, although a bit harsh, it was a bit of a moronic comment to make.

My dad is a Blade and he too recognises the huge challenge they will face next season. However, I went to the Lane to watch them vs QPR earlier this season and they were superb. They play a very interesting and progressive system, which requires some serious hard work from their wide players. It's very quick and 'PL ready' in my opinion. Yes they'll need to invest, but if they continue to go for good British players I thnk they might be a relative success in the bottom 10 or so. Underestimating Chris Wilder and lumping him in with the likes of Warnock is daft, he's a progressive astute and very decent manager. It'll be very interesting to see how they get on.

Obviously i'd be doubly delighted if we manage to stay up, as I can make another trip to the Lane to watch us... Right now, if we played them, I'd say we'd most likely lose... confidence and a far more threatening system than ours.

Nicely returning to us; we need to improve hugely on our current form, or we will definitely go next time around... but I guess we all know that, right?!?

This piece on United from last season is interesting, especially the free kick routine vids https://trainingground.guru/articles/why-set-pieces-are-such-a-weapon-for-sheffield-united

In this article there's a direct quote from Mac Allister explicitly mentioning Brighton. He says it's up in the air due to passport issues and if he can't come to Brighton he'll look at the other options. If it's Boca, so be it.

It's interesting to watch; people enjoying the creative side of coaching and training - enjoying the beautiful game.

Our players look devoid of confidence, creativity, spontaneity and more pertinently; look like they no longer enjoy their (let's face it fantastic) jobs. Where's the fun in our system? Where's the creativity in our system? I want to see players trying things, beyond the mantra of keeping it tight and 'simple.' I realise our confidence is shot, but we're stuck in a rather vicious cycle of decline right now... CH needs to break it somehow, and fast.

Where's the fun Chris? Where's the joy?

Saying "My dream is to play for Boca" when you've signed a few months ago for a low end PL team is like getting yourself a reasonably attractive girlfriend then saying your dream is to go out with Scarlett Johansson on the second date. It's not boding well for the future.

At least Locadia would have got to the moving in stage before saying he sees her as a stepping stone to Scarlett Johansson.

This version of the quote makes no mention of Boca at all https://www.tycsports.com/nota/copa...lo-de-inglaterra-esta-dificil_aplicaster.html

This one states that if Brighton is not possible he'd obviously be up for a loan move to Boca https://tntsportsla.com/history/5cc4ad8887f19e085a869dd7

This article mentions the dream of playing for Boca but the quote is from January when there was a possibility of a loan to them rather than staying at Argentinos Juniors. https://www.ole.com.ar/boca-juniors/mac-allister-posible-prestamo-boca_0_lFW5CG_D2.html

It doesn't seem that strange to me that a young player would dream of playing for the biggest club in his country if the opportunity arose. At no time has he said he'd rather go to Boca than come to Brighton. It's probably a good idea to make the right noises to keep the boca ultras on side in case he does end up there on loan.

You're correct, but why does this suddenly feel like the Latin version of Alex Pritchard?

I don't really see the parallels. Pritchard didn't sign as a got a better offer. Ally Mac has signed but can't come yet due to passport issues; he's open to moving to the biggest club in his country while awaiting the issues to be resolved. Pritchard went to Norwich.

I'm probably wrong but I'm getting "short-arse No. 10 looking for bigger club opportunity" vibe and the move will be another shocker - I hope it isn't.
