[Albion] Is it time to restart BISA or something similar?

A proper protest would be to to publicly state you’ll give tomorrow’s game a miss.

Weak!

Well that’s the thing CR, if you said to me that giving Barber money and then not turning up would have the slightest impact on him, I’d gladly do it. But can you spot the flaw if your mentality is bean counting? He’d probably just think of some way to resell the seat.

It’s true we often have disagreements given you support the Conservatives and I’m an old fashioned socialist but I’m surprised even from the point of view of your values you are not uneasy about this. Shouldn’t you want to stand up for some kind of traditionalism. What about the individual rights of the old boy who just wants to enjoy his hot cuppa at half time as he’s done for many decades? Isn’t that your constituency, the people you are meant to be looking out for from all the unnecessary change merchants like me?

Or does that all go out the window if the boss says jump?

At a guess, I suspect that's because I haven't marked myself out as a self-indulgent, self-important gobshite who pisses everyone off with a near constant air of misplaced superiority, then on being reprimanded by Bozza decides to announce he's flouncing off for good, only to then come back when he thinks everyone's forgotten about him.

I'm with Brian Munich and Chicken Run - please do fck off and leave the site for good like you originally promised, eh?

Please spend your morning writing another post about me. I’m not inside your head at all, am I?

You continue to struggle.

To clarify, I'm merely responding to your drivel on this thread, I don't know anything about you other than what you write on here. No, you're not in my head. And no, you wouldn't be missed if you simply kept your promise. It is interesting that you keep deflecting from this embarrassing fact by simply responding that I am somehow obsessed with you, as if that stood up to any scrutiny whatsoever - I haven't even responded to you in about 6 months as far as I remember.

Now, rather than focusing on this idea that I'm obsessed with you, shall we discuss what you're doing on here at all?

The decision to take away the subsidy from some fans, the bottle tops (which is totally illogical on a H+S basis and is clearly financially driven), the flask decision (which is the same as the bottle top decision), the decision to ban a fan for 5 games for an ill advised tweet, their communication via email which illustrates how we are seen as consumers rather than fans etc.

Look, I just think they're made a lot of decisions in a very short space of time which have illustrated that they don't really care about fans. That's fair enough, as they're a business. But it's very difficult to get excited for all this "together" rubbish when the club clearly don't really value their fans. And there are knock on effects to this. If I am just a consumer in their eyes (which we all are) and there's been a move towards this by our club over the last few seasons, then expectations about the product on offer need to change too - there needs to be a higher standard of product and service on offer and the club should expect a backlash from consumers if they don't deliver.

From a business stand point, it reeks of the traditional malaise of pursuing short termism above all else. It works for a while when times are good. Not casting any aspersions on the recent fans, many will still come back if the fixture list becomes Rotherham on a Tuesday night. But the club need to think how many fans who will gladly do this over the superstar watchers are having their ties to the club loosened purely because we have a management that doesn’t want to go through the competent process of consulting on change and bringing everyone of good faith along

Ok, playing the ball and not the man, I respectfully refer you to this post:

I think that we have a CEO who will personally respond (at length) to every e-mail he receives from individual fans.
A chairman who sits and shares a can of Stella with random fans, on the train back from away matches.
Club representatives made available not just for the one annual forum you mention, but also disparate supporters' groups (Seagulls over London, Seagulls over Burwash ffs!).

If anything 'access' to 'the club' for each individual fan, is greater now than it has ever been.

How does the fact that lines of communication have never been so open marry up with your assertion that management "doesn’t want to go through the competent process of consulting on change and bringing everyone of good faith along"?

It is a good idea, if only to give a perspective into the club from a different direction. Whatever, NSC needs to be involved and other social media tools like Twitter, Facebook and Instagram would be too. It would need moderating though as any misuse would render it totally non-respectable and the club would not engage. Get some responsible literate youngsters involved, I agree; but finding them could be the issue.

Certainly not flask or bottle top driven, no agenda at all, and I am very much aware of the demographic on here....the discussion goes on face to face at games as well.
I am just sounding opinion a bit. Whatever happens, if anything does, I shall just be watching lovely football and drinking my Harveys (hopefully simultaneously sometime soon)
I won't be involved at all, my campaigning and meetings days are over.

Sounds like most on NSC just want to do similar with their own lager, wine, or Harveys. And I include myself in this.

No one looks like being bothered enough to do anything else so far !

But the chap with his hot cuppa can still have his hot cuppa? What are you trying to say, because this highlighted piece really doesn't make that much sense.

That confused me too. No idea how they feel they can't do that, they just can't bring it in. Not sure how difficult it is to understand or why it's become such an issue.

Yes, he was not with us during the war years, but that is true of probably every employee at the club now, players and non-players alike. I don't think even TB did that much at that time.

Incorrect. Paul Camillin for one was part of the campaign. Derek Chapman, Ray Bloom and others all played their part and are still closely involved.

I just think it's unreasonable that Seniors shouldn't have access to a hot drink at a game in the middle of winter. Due to the flask ban and the crap clogged catering queues, the only way they can do so is by missing out on a chunk of the game they've come to see in order to have easy access to the hot drink catering. Doesn't affect me personally, but feel for those that ARE affected by it. Can get wickedly cold at the Amex.

You've not been able to take Flasks into Wembley since at least 2010. How do Seniors cope there? Or are they all keeling over during the game?

A lot of Seniors (like myself) now have Bovril or Tea before the match, and then have to visit the loo at half time. You warm up in the queues to get in the cubicles (ladies).

I do realise where you're coming from and I miss the days when Liz, Sarah and I used to share a flask of soup in some far flung northen football ground.

Blimey, it's still going on. I have just had a read and there really is a large variety of opinions on there, as I thought there would be. And ironically the last post is from THPP endorsing the reason I posted the question in the first place. Just because something doesn't affect me doesn't mean I don't care about it....
All the little top-down diktats sit uncomfortably with our previous tradition of face to face discussion and consultation with the club in my opinion, and I was mooting the possibility of a revival of some kind of informal fan representation, not just to deal with the small irritations today but any bigger ones which could conceivably happen in the future. Without some kind of consensus that it's a good idea it's a non-starter, so it's a non-starter, end of. Things have moved on.
I do think it's funny and ironic that people with 40 times my post count can accuse me of attention seeking, and I shall continue to post what I want, when I want, but it will never be that often, because I do most of my online life, politics and football on FB and Twitter - and of course offline on stage. I honestly do not need any kind of endless validation for what happened in the past, I have a very full life. But people can think what they want, obviously :) Looking forward to Liverpool. That is the most obvious indication of how far we've come....

They may have just decided to stop bothering going and the FA doesn't care because it thinks it can always market England games to other audiences. What we do know is that many are unhappy about this change at the Albion, are you just going to talk over all of us and dismiss us because we don't matter?

You're all deluded if you think the club are going to over-rule concerns on safety grounds and risk something happening, to appease a minority.

Also was thinking more about Spurs @ Wembley. But plenty of other clubs with the rule to.
