Taking Mrs D7 to Rome in March, just looking for advice on which area is best to stay in, don’t want to have to walk miles to good bars and restaurants etc. Also best way in from airport - how much is a taxi?

For some reason - She didn’t like my suggestion of going to see Lazio or Roma play! So looks like site seeing. Any other hidden gems we should visit after the Vatican, colleaseum etc
Trastevere. Fantastic place to stay where a lot of locals eat and drink. We walked everywhere from here. Will be back later this year.

Another vote for getting the train from the airport to Trastevere. When we went to a friend's wedding a few years ago, she booked us into a place in Trastevere. Would definitely stay in that area again.
