No, that's not a 4-CEP. It's a 4-COR (known by railwaymen as Nelsons), used primarily (though not exclusively) on the London-Portsmouth routes.

. LOL. One of my clients does that for a living. Wait till I tell her she can't get trains right. Then again Southern Rail still getting it wrong to this day

Don't know about still getting it wrong. Back in 1958 BR ran a full service on Christmas Day, and there would have been absolutely no problem getting a train home after a Boxing Day match.

Although our crowds may be smaller in numbers than 1953, I bet there are many more "jumbo sized" members amongst them these days!

The "thorough research and correct image posting" is all farmed out to the Pedantry Department, who have much more time on their hands.

True. Hardly anybody was fat back then (take a look at those old crowd shots). With today's obesity levels, those Goldstone turnstiles and terracing would have shrunk the attendance below 20k!

I feel the need to point out that this is a former South Eastern & Chatham Railway "H" class 0-4-4 tank locomotive. You can ride behind the sole surviving member of the class on the Bluebell Railway.
