It could be construed as that. But it's not unreasonable to state that, as it's the closest place for people in Whitehawk to go out (closer than the city centre), that's where many residents would head to for a night out.
Whether anyone has an issue with people from Whitehawk is another issue.

I'm pretty sure Lush meant that by having moved up in the World from 'West Roedean' that you may have moved to 'East Roedean', and that she was not implying that Whitehawk is to the east of Roedean.
