Well I'm fairly certain that the next Tory PM after Teresa May will be Michael Gove. He's sitting there being a good little boy and professing his admiration for and showing loyalty to Teresa May and all the while he's plotting to take over. I don't particularly like either but either is 100% better than Corbyn.

As a former work colleague of Gove (although I had mercifully little contact with him) I can promise you he'd be a disaster.

It would no doubt be Keir Starmer negotiating if Labour did get in.

As a remainer my fear then would be that he would actually do a good job and get a deal that would win majority support.

I have met Keir Starmer a few times before I retired. I like him and feel he would be a good leader, but then, until someone starts actually doing the job, you can never tell.

Yes, that may well be true, as you say, but waiting in the wings will be good old Jezza for whom dogma is all-important. That's when it could all go wrong.

I really hope that May can tough this out and once and for all establish who she can trust and which opportunists are stabbing her in the back. I’ve not heard one of her opponents come up with anything better (or indeed anything) to resolve the Brexit stalemate.

I’ve a hunch that she will survive and for the first time in years we will have a leader that we can trust.

May should stay. If she goes the nightmare scenario of Commie Corbyn getting into power gets closer and that's not acceptable or desirable by any sane person

HOVE - JUST
She’s doing the best she can in an impossible position. There is literally no outcome that will please even a third of the country so whoever was in charge would be getting widespread criticism right now. The PM after Cameron was always going to be a Brexit PM who would then have to fall on their sword. I actually think her deal is about as palatable as it could be bearing in mind the polar opposite views she is trying to appease.

However, she is not a good leader, orator or personality and will not win the next election so she needs to take the Brexit hit and then get out.

Agree entirely with all these points. Further, I think Cameron should have been made to stay and sort out the mess he created, thinking it was a nailed on Remain win.
Just like everything Brexit, I see this poll is split down the middle.

Sane person here. Would like Corbyn as PM very much.

It's just a shame he wasn't the leader from the beginning of the Brexit negotiations. We certainly wouldn't be in the mess that we are now if it were the case.

That is a massive statement of hope, considering his own party didn't want him anywhere near a cabinet position for donkeys years. Now, all of a sudden, thrust into a position of statesmanship, for which he is totally untested, you feel he would be a resounding success.

It's genuinely sad that you accept our current nightmare yet fear democratic socialism ? We live in a democracy and JC is not going to turn the country in to some kind of laughable communist state. May said she " wanted an economy that worked for everyone ", how's that going ? 20 years ago, did we have Food Banks ? Do you remember when it was unusual to see homeless people sleeping in doorways ? Are you ok about the continuing and ongoing cuts in council services ? you know, all the little things that help so many people.

When the UN feel the need to send someone to investigate the 5th biggest economy IN THE WORLD and come up with these conclusions, are you heartless or ignorant or some kind of Russian 'Bot ?

Be very careful what you wish for. You imply that we will get a nice cuddly version of democratic socialism, but is that really what Momentum activists will want to deliver? By the time you wake up to what you have set in motion, it might just be too late even for you.

Christ, you really have bought in to the program haven't you ? Look at the state of the country and what passes for our " society " these days. So you are happy to see increasing homelessness, food banks, minimum wage/zero hours contracts and vulnerable people considering suicide ? The Tories have screwed so many people over and are carrying on with the tacit approval of morons like you that think the Labour party are the Khmer Rouge.

Lets hope you have a good job and good health and don't have to face the real world .
