I live in Liverpool so can probably help. Anglican Cathedral is pretty impressive and you can pay a couple of quid to go up to the top of the bell tower roof for stunning views. Sefton Park Palm House, Philharmonic Pub in town, any part of Liverpool One, the Docks including the big wheel and free galleries / museum.

This is what I would have said. I spent quite a lot of time in Liverpool because they had the specialist cancer treatment centre in country that my wife needed and we stayed overnight. Does the philharmonic still have the most amazing pub toilets in the world? Worth going for a wee to admire the decor. It sounds like a joke but it isn’t. I used to like sitting on the docks watching the coming and goings as I got fresh air.

Otis Redding liked sitting on the docks but would have preferred it was in a city with a bay. Watching the tide rolling away. Many Scousers would say Otis was wasting time before a football match.

"Neighbourhood" on Castle Street for a beer and a spot of lunch. Excellent. There's also a shopping centre down the road, and the Cavern Club a short walk away.

Can't stand Liverpool on the whole, though. Horrible place.
