I just love the fact that anybody trying to spend even a £20 note in Saino's has to have it passed past their magic marker pen. You're assumed to be a criminal counterfeit note passer until the magic marker pen proves otherwise. As for the £50 note, forget it. They might as well not exist, such is the retail suspicion surrounding them. Compare and contrast with the 50 Euro note which is happily accepted in, say, payment for a meal in even the lowliest of Euroland villages. What gives?

Looking at the original list, I've realised there must be a rule that says it has to be somebody who's dead, which unfortunately rules out Robbie Williams.

Cilla's a good shout though. I bet she disdainfully chucked many a £50 note at poor ITV flunkeys in her time.

is odd isnt it? historically the £20 and £50 was the most likely to be forged and then laundered by breaking. i dont see the pen so much now, it pretty common to use £20 (and not get much change!).

Glenn Murray's kisser shouldn't just be on the £50 note but ALL bank notes. In fact, I think it's time to change the name of The Royal Mint to The Murray Mint.
