Such sad sad news. Peter Brackley was part of my Albion teenage years and his warmth, humour and engaging personality was much loved. A genuine Albion supporter and a great raconteur, he will be greatly missed. In the war years, he was a great ally and support to me. A true Sussex gentleman, who always had time to chat. In the last few years, his health wasn't great but he endured with a smile and his wit to the fore. Thanks Peter for everything, you will live long in the memory. Deepest condolences to the family at this sad time.

Unbelievably young and so sad to hear.
He really was the footballing voice of my youth thanks to Football Italia.
Incredibly took me years to realise he was Albion through and through as well.

Never cared much for other European Leagues
Even with Messi and Ronaldo, don't think I have ever watched a full 90 minute Spanish League game
However used to love Football Italia with Gascoigne, Richardson and Brackley
Didn't miss an episode and would record if not indoors on a Sunday afternoon

I forgot that he did the Italia football coverage for C4 too. Very happy memories .... Van Basten, Baresi and all that.
I'm sure the Albion will do something classy for Peter at a coming home match.
