Used to listen to the phone in whilst walking back home up Tongdean Lane. Des Lynam would pass us by in his car at some point. And then there was Mr Withdean trying to prevent people from parking on that road. Oh such memories.

I’m probably biased as I know the OP, but to my mind, the Fans Phone in for the Withdean years was as vital as Gulls Eye was for the latter Goldstone years. To ‘paraphrase’ the old phrase about going on holiday: ‘half the fun is getting there (even though it may not be an easy ride)’

I view the time since we got to the Amex as being at the holiday destination for life, and so we don’t really have the same sort of need for GE and radio phone ins. Instead we have trip advisor reviews, in the form of post match tweets.

And with that, I’ll leave the analogies, and finish off by saying it was all worth it, so enjoy x
