14-3 and with Haines injured effectively 14-4, surely the batting lineup is a clear issue that needs addressing before next season...

To be fair to Sussex, they didn't expect Van Zyl to be out for pretty much the whole season (and for Wells and Wright, their two most experienced batters, to have such a miserable year)

Could be worse.

Leicestershire 321 beat Durham 61 & 66

Ah well, that's that then for this season, a brief flurry of hope which ultimately fizzled out as usual, icing on the cake will be Gillespie getting poached at the end of the season and we are back to square one.

It hasn’t been a bad season at all. Best for a while.
We would get destroyed in division one.
Next season could be fun if our younger players continue to bloom.

Run rate of nearly 5 an over made the last couple of hours interesting. Not sure if we can carry it on for long in the morning before the inevitable collapse and heavy defeat.

Glamorgan fighting hard at Canterbury.

45-7.

Assume the Taffs made the most of their last night out on this road trip...

Meanwhile at Hove, Sussex carry on their merry way to a big first innings lead.

Commentators very sensibly talking about the prospect of this pair taking the score beyond 400 and then Sussex can declare to deny Warwickshire any further bowling bonus points.

Dizzy said yesterday we could still win, his words were something like 'we just need two batsman to go nuts'.

Sussex trail Warwickshire by 160 runs with 5 wickets remaining
