Unbeaten after 4 games the U23s take on West Ham tonight at the Amex 19.00 , the youngsters have shown they can more than just make up the numbers in their first season in the top flight , hopefully a healthy crowd tonight to cheer the lads on , if you've not been to a U23 game so far then i urge you to get to a game or two this season , the standard of football is incredible technically and you will definitely enjoy it .

Is there any chance that the game will be shown on Seagulls TV ?

Don't know yet , the coverage seems to be kept a state secret until closer to kick off , i suspect this maybe due to trying to get a few more to actually go to the game rather than watch at home with a nice flask of coffee and a home made pie , there are rules and regs in place about coverage but these seem to change like the wind from game to game i think it will be on Seagulls TV tonight but iv'e thought that before and nothing shows up .

Are you allowed to take a flask into your house?

Football and Fishing related activities are strictly forbidden in the house but i have a fully equipped shed which includes a kettle , toaster , a small one burner portable gas stove , a WiFi booster system and a few copies of Escort and Razzle to soften the blow of disappointing Ifollow coverage , i also have a hammer in there somewhere .

Is there a chance? Yes, there's a chance.
Is it being shown? I have no idea.

(My hunch is that it will be shown, as to do so from the Amex is relatively straight forward for the club.)

If this was the case, then it should be interesting to hear why so many from the Amex have not been broadcast, it would be good to have them shown with some consistency.

I suspect if you ask the answer would be a simple 'economics' dont add up to broadcast U23's games. Although saying that it seems that if the opposition are showing it the Albion decide to ... have no clue if the Hammers have a good record of showing U23's games or not but I have my fingers crossed for some Friday night footy with the U23's

I honestly don't believe there are any rules or regulations that prevent Albion showing these matches, should they choose to do so.

I realise there have been various suggestions to this effect over the months (such as U-23 games not being allowed to be shown when a Premier League match is being televised) but none of these "rules" stands up to any form of scrutiny.

I believe the only reason that these games haven't been shown over the last 12 months or so is that Albion have CHOSEN not to show them, for whatever reason(s). That seems to be borne out by Paul Barber's response to BG a month ago [BG left his name in his original post which I have deleted in the re-post below, for obvious reasons]:-

Dear namedeletedbyAZ Gull

Thank you for your email.

It’s simple economics. There is a considerable cost to mounting a broadcast quality production of a football match and we do not currently generate income from subscriptions to Seagulls Player or advertising revenue from our You Tube channel at anything like the rate some of our more bigger or more established rival Premier League clubs benefit from. Where we see opportunities to broadcast our U23 games that make economic sense we will look to do so.

Best wishes, Paul

IMy guess is that the albion got so fed up with the high volumes of complaints about seagulls player live streams not working, that they now don't make a big point of advertising them, and just mention it at the last minute after doing a quick smoke test on the feed.
