What an absolutely brilliant show that was. Unlucky Alf and Ted and Ralph are amongst the greatest comedy sketches of all time.

PS - I though Mark Williams was more of a Villa fan?

Hard to pick a favourite Ted and Ralph but this was one of them. It was different to most of the T&R sketches as Ted did most of the talking instead of reacting uncomfortably to Ralph's awkward advances.

The thing with The Fast Show is that the characters were all so believable and real. I used to work with a guy who was exactly like Roger Noveau for example.

I also liked this one for Ted's reaction at the very end which showed a different non-deferential aspect of his character which he never revealed to Ralph. It showed he actually had a backbone and although he "knew his place" he wasn't prepared to tolerate any crap from anybody. It showed him as a more rounded character.

Loved all of the Rowley Birkin sketches...brilliant character.

About 20 years ago I was running full pelt down the road from Brighton station to catch a bus, and Mark Williams was standing outside the pub - I slammed the brakes on, went back and just tapped my nose & whispered "you aint seen me, right?", before sprinting off down the hill again. He must've heard it a million times, but it was all I could think of to say...

Ironic as my Daughter is now one... Cabin Crew, not a lezzer - but if she was, I wouldn't care. Really. (for the PC cavalry looking to wave their banners and charge into battle)

"I hope you crash" is one of my favourite Fast Show lines!
