I played with a guy once who opened the batting and was 3* at the end of 40ovs. He was on 2 at the end of the first over.

I've played with people like that
I held at the record at my last club for most balls faced without scoring (54). It was in the middle of a 108 partnership, to which I contributed 14.
This season, my daughter opened the batting and was 5* at the end of 20 overs #that'smygirl

Mea Culpa, but Middlesex were bowling Pies at the time. Clearly Sussex couldn't cope with even that level of bowling.

Another 120 runs would be quite handy but....if the weather is looking better for the next few days, if we got skittled at least we can try and get a few of their top order out before the shine comes off the ball..... we could be batting last on a three day pitch in good conditions having to chase maybe 250 to win.....what could possibly go wrong ?
