Bad, bad, bad.

The kid has done well and his confidence is sky high.

Rotten decision. Okay, he was found not guilty, but it's still wrong.

Hard to disagree with this, dropping Curran after only his third test and having done nothing wrong could wreak havoc with his condidence. Still, picking young cricketers and then almost immediately dropping them again is something the ECB selectors seem to be particularly good at.

Couldn't they drop Rashid? He didn't bat or bowl in the last test (not his fault that he didn't of course, but it does suggest they can cope without him). Jennings could also go.

Quite a breeze at Trent Bridge, India may struggle with swing bowling

Decent bowling all round, I can’t imagine India getting much more than 220.

I was following on CricInfo and, even when we didn’t; strike early, I felt it was only a matter of time. It appeared as though we were beating the edge quite a bit and a lot of movement there.

I think 220 will be a good score for them. I could see it being less than that. Kohli goes quick and they could crumble.

Will they be regretting dropping Curran now. He may have made the break through needed.

At least the ECB will be happy, as the coffers will be swelled by a 4th and even a 5th day's play. Poor, poor decision. Only Woakes has a wicket, now India past 200.

What you'd give for a bit of left arm seam right now...

Indeed. From junior level upwards it's always best to have a left handed seamer to help unsettle the batsmen. All too predictable without. As I said before, it would have made more sense to move YJB up to 4 & drop Pope (harsh also, but more sensible than dropping Curran).
