Group D: Brighton & Hove Albion, Everton, Bayern Munich, Benfica

The Premier League International Cup gives young players from Category One academies the chance to test themselves against some of the best equivalent Under-23 sides from across Europe.

In its fifth season, the International Cup is split into six groups, with two English clubs and two invited European teams in each.

In the group stage, teams play each other once, with all matches hosted in England.

Wow.

Does that mean we've made it into Europe?

......."all matches hosted in England" - perhaps not quite!

First I've heard of this competition though. Like!

Are we allowed a couple of over age players? Might be worth giving 1st teamers a go in Europe!

Does the 'will play group matches in England' mean that they are played at a central venue as opposed to hosting any games at the Amex/Lancing

Hosted all over the place.

We hosted Villarreal vs Benfica at Lancing last season.

Our games could be anywhere I guess, Amex, Lancing, Crawley. Whatever is available I guess.

Everton, Bayern Munich and Benfica? Blimey. Great experience though hopefully (and we beat Everton in last year's Premier League Cup, so perhaps we won't be too far off the pace).

Odd selection of English teams, only Tottenham and Man U of the top 6, meanwhile we have the youth teams of the German, Portuguese and French champions competing? Perhaps they are prioritising Youth Champions League.

Why are Man Utd in it when they were relegated ?
