Just signed for Cardiff for around £3 million. Would have been a good signing imo, unless Krul stays of course. Home grown player at a good age. Great penalty saving record too.

Will presumeably have a better chance of starting there than here and thus be one big reason he's gone there. Totally different situations sadly.

That said Neil Etheridge is no slouch and could still beat him out for the number 1 spot.

Smithies has gone to Cardiff as their numero uno keeper, at Brighton that wouldn't have been the case.

Not as good as Ryan and to good to be a no 2 so a no go for us and a team like Cardiff is an obvious choice.

You always get those nonsense comments though, don't you. Prats on here would have driven Stockdale anywhere in the world after the Aston Villa game because you're only ever as good as your previous game and to hell with the previous 100.

Seem to recall some on here being a tad concerned about Ryan after his performance against Ath Madrid in preseason last year. He turned out to be kind of alright though....

Does not deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as mat Ryan. Different gravy entirely.

Good to hear he’s their number one though . A sign they will struggle
