Back in October after the London Stadium masacre. The Doris and myself stayed up in the smoke and went to Borough market. The choice and smells from all the food being cooked was something else. Settled for an Ethiopian curry believe it or not. Not tasted food that good for a long long time.. Street food at it's best.

Edit....just seen the post on previos page by Nitram
Love Borough market the food on offer is top notch. Must go again soon.

The UK version of street food is truck stop tea bars that sell burgers, egg n bacon Sandwiches etc.

Street food in the far east has been popularised on sky by various food porn programmes like asain street food and 2you got to eat here", it reflects these countries, poverty, lack of regulations and anything goes.

The old saying a fool and his money are easily parted springs to mind as any UK version is bound to be anglicised and pricey with nothing going for it other than for image conscious fools, especially not nutrition.

God only knows why HR departments dont include a question on application forms for employment along the lines of where/what do you like to eat? It would weed out a lot of dross.

The trouble with Borough Market is the enormous crowds and tourists. I walk through it every day on the way to work and back and I would certainly avoid the area at lunchtime. People who like street food in the area tend to go to Flat Iron Square as that means there's a chance of getting somewhere to sit down as well.

Personally I'm not a street food fan because I'm looking for somewhere quiet at lunch without much chance of sauce/food going all over my hands/clothes, but I can see why people might like it occasionally. When I worked in the City I used to be just south of Whitecross market, which I would say has a bigger and better selection of street food stalls than Borough market. Borough has the stalls for the ingredients and raw materials. If you want to eat that kind of thing then I would recommend Whitecross over Borough.

Hmm it may be cheap, but the air ticket pushes the price up a little!
I doubt anyone would be stupid enough to fly there just to eat

Do you have something against Bob Geldof? I imagine a number of people do. Or is it the poor, unfortunate, starving people you keep inferring about?
