I'm not too sure that working from home would help change a sedentary lifestyle that's possibly caused the obesity in the first place.

When I glanced at the thread title I assumed it was that obese people took up two seats instead of one when travelling, thus by not travelling in rush hour would mean two seats could be occupied by less portly individuals.

Got that one wrong, didn’t I?

We should have obese carriages on trains.

You got it. Might as well keep the buffet car next to it as well.

Your ticket works on a sliding scale of fatness.

The carriage doors could only open for set widths.
The wider you are the further down the platform you have to walk.

Win-win.

Speaking at the European Congress on Obesity in Vienna, Professor Stephan Bevan, of the Institute for Employment Studies, said letting obese staff who feel anxious about travelling on public transport arrive an hour later, or work from home, would help their mental health.

Guess which speaker couldn't get on his tram this morning.

Yes and that would stop fatties tying to travel on a thinny ticket.

If the fatties don't like using public transport maybe they could WALK or CYCLE to work instead? Two birds, one stone.
