Now we know who the 20 teams will be next season, I see that the bookies have already started to take bets on whom will be relegated.

20th Cardiff 5/6
19th Huddersfield 11/8
18th Watford 21/10
17th/16th BHA & Fulham 5/2

.... a tougher season than 2017/2018?

Ignore this

Bet365 have got Fulham as outright THIRD favourites for relegation at 6/4 along with Cardiff & Huddersfield.

I hope they are right.

Interestingly if you take the early odds up to 6/1 that brings in Burnley 4/1 & Palace at 6/1 - so 7 clubs, compared to 10 clubs last season. What this means who knows? The strong have got stronger & the weak weaker? Or the bookies completely hopeless? Or just not offering very good odds at the mo - concentrating on the World Cup?

12/10 last year 25/10 this. So Bookies rate us half as likely to go down next season as they did for this !

I got a decent return for betting against us getting relegated in our first season, don't expect the odds to be as favourable next season.

Too early before many clubs have added to their squads to predict, although they are probably not too far off the likely candidates to be honest.

So the bookies have us lower than where we finished last season even though we've added Andone and Balogun.

Wolves already have a squad good enough to compete in the premier league and they will only strengthen. They will comfortably be mid table

Well, the bookies got it right last season. Oh, wait ....

Leicester at 14/1 look the best price there.

Interesting to see that the bookies believe Burnley are much more likely to be relegated than Palace, West Ham and Southampton when they finished 10 points, 12 points and 18 points clear of them last season.. does Europa League football cost a team that many points? Or are they expecting an exodus of players or loss of manager?

Who would even look at this in May???

I think the idea is that you should always check odd before the facts are fully available and if you think you see a bargain you can potentially make big money, like the 2 or 3 who put money on Licester winning the league, during the summer before they did it. If you are instead planning to use betting odds to calm your mojo during the season (not a good idea at the bst of times, to be fair - horoscopes are far more soothing) then it is certainly far too soon to be checking.
