Is it greedy to want Moore to finish the squad off? Either way, I'm happy with the squad, if not a little short at CB.

Plus others that can step in if needed and the chance of losing 2 at the same time is very remote

No it isn't remote when we have two players who are likely to play additional international games. Another is needed as Hughton has already pointed out

I can't believe we will gamble on not losing a CB for a period this season. Uncle Tony will come good again.

Step up Ben White

Would like him to play at a higher level first before being considered. Walton is now playing in the Championship. That's the level we want our kids playing at, at some stage.

I think that we are covered as it is but signing another CB would be a bonus.

Covered by who? We have only 3 senior CBs

Bernado for a start. Maybe not ideal, and as BG has said, another CB would be a bonus. Or there is also the unthinkable and obviously horrific idea to some people that one of our junior CBs might just have to step up, to the bench anyway. Besides, we do have 3 senior CBs, and we only ever play two at the back. Yes, one more CB would be ideal (but bollox to spending £15M on Moore!), but it'll be nothing like the handicap we had last season when we were a striker short - and we did OK last season, no?

Would quite like to see Ben White go to Wigan, has done Walton a world of good. Central defender will be the final piec of the jigsaw and I have a feeling that Jack O’Connell as opposed to Liam Moore could join.

Spot on. Ben can’t spend this season sat on the bench as 4th choice - needs to be properly tested and developed by playing, and he looks ready to do that in 2nd tier.

Not sure why there’s any doubt here. Hughton has said he wants 2 players for every position, they have 3 specialised CBs. They have bid £m for 2 youngish Centre backs to be the last signing and are biding their time.
No journeymen, no players stepping up (they are on loan or going on loan or aren’t ready) No players filling in and Goldson was rightly allowed to leave after 3 years because he never played. Tthat’s been the position all summer.

I do think that CH may look for a tried and tested journeyman as additional CB cover

Let it go BG... you were wrong about our wingers as proved by the signing of Ali, and you are wrong about our CB’s too as ALREADY proved by our Moore bids.

We are in the Prem, not L1 anymore, so we are not going to sign journeymen FFS
