Quotes are from last week, however the article headline is we are still in negotiations etc...think in fairness this has everything that people love/hate about the transfer window...

Speculation/possibility/Transfer requests/ridiculous fees/last min signing etc...

I doubt they know anything new tbh. They have no new quotes and they suggest we are weighing up a move for Dan Burn as if that wasn't also last week's news. Situation unchanged as it were. My completely unsubstantiated guess is they are holding out for closer to the £15m they have no chance of getting and we are probably nearer £8m.

Anyone else surprised we didn't try and get Chambers in from Arsenal? Good pedigree, always performed well, reasonable loan option perhaps with a view to a perm purchase if suited both clubs and player? We could have had him on loan, he maybe could have usurped Duffy, played well, we sell Dunk next Summer to someone bigger - maybe even Arsenal - and then have kept Chambers?

Would have rather gone that route than Moore/Burn or A.N.Other tbh.

A couple of reports suggest Brighton are in pursuit of the defender Harold Moukoudi after being priced out of a move for the Reading defender Liam Moore. The France Under-20 international could follow a well-trodden path, with Benjamin Mendy, Riyad Mahrez, Paul Pogba, Dimitri Payet – not forgetting Liverpool’s Anthony Le Tallec and Florent Sinama-Pongolle, signed by Gerard Houllier in 2001 – in having graduated through the Ligue 2 club’s youth system.

You seem to have that scenario pretty well mapped out! To be honest though l would be very surprised if Arsenal would loan Chambers out if he wasn't going to get very much game time.
