It amazes me Gillingham isn't better supported being the only professional Kent club.

Give it a few years and hopefully Maidstone United will return, phoenix-like, to the Football League whilst their Kent neighbours sink into the National.

The Gills were a mere six points clear of relegation from League One last season, but I'm ever-hopeful that next season will see them sink again, and then it's an enticing prospect that they could do a Chesterfield and fall into non-league. Enjoy that, Mr Scally :wave:

Only 6 clubs have ever achieved the Three in a Row.

Preston North End – 1891, 1892, 1893
Manchester United – 1947, 1948, 1949
Leeds United – 1970, 1971,1972
Huddersfield Town – 1924, 1925, 1926
Arsenal – 1933, 1934, 1935
Liverpool – 1982, 1983, 1984

For the sake of accuracy;

Only 4 teams have ever won the top flight of English football 3 times in a row.

Huddersfield Town were champions in 1923/24, 24/25, and 25/26. First team to achieve three in a row. First two under Herbert Chapman.
Arsenal were champions 1932/33, 33/34, 34/35. First title under Herbert Chapman, he died of pneumonia part way through the second.
Liverpool were champions 1981/82, 82/83, 83/84.
Manchester United have achieved it 3 times, all in the Premier League era - 98-01, 06-09 & 11-13.

No-one has won it 4 in a row.

Sorry, but PNE and Leeds have never done 3 in a row.

The Premier League will have to wait at least another season to get the Villa vibrancy. :rolleyes:
