Who? I think that only a few "locals" pubs will honour that old practice now.

Most pubs apart from central chain pubs will keep you one or 2 in the bin - provided they are not too busy

Bar cards, the only place I knew that did this. Miss Monroes in Worcester. Regulars could lay on a bar card or 2 till pay day. They kept it behind the bar with your name on, and had 300 squares on it, made of cardboard and the bar maid would cross off your drinks in 10p increments per square..Cost was 27 quid. Like a payday loan that you could only use there, and it had negative interest. Sheer genius ply by the landlord. Payday comes, everyone owes 54 GBP and starts the journey on next months tab a day or two earlier each month

Used to have a £100 credit limit at a pub, which I paid off every pay day. "Interest free" as well. Sadly the bar is long gone.
