10. is Tottenham Hotspur - Hotspur being a nobleman under Henry IV and Shakespear character.

The Bard would have been proud of you. Harry Hotspur was killed at the battle of Shrewsbury in 1403. Taking part in the battle that day was young Prince Hal, later to become Henry V.

When formed, by a group of schoolboys, the club was named Hotspur Football Club after the historical figure and then became Tottenham Hotspur.

Here we go, a sort of cryptic description of UK football clubs quiz thingy. Can you work out the name of the club from the following?

1. Always heavy - Everton

2. Polar opposite of Southend - Preston North End

3. Ship shape wanderers - Bristol Rovers

4. Modernised fortress - Newcastle

5. Feminists would argue about this name - Mansfield

6. A fit Bobby - Charlton Athletic

7. Complete buttocks - Arsenal

8. Demolished piece of pork - Wrexham

9. Not quite in alphabetical order - QPR

10. Part of their name is a historical figure (also in a Shakespeare play) - Tottenham Hotspur

Good luck! Answers later. :drink:

Well done everyone, hope you enjoyed it! :drink:

I don't know if its the norm on other coaches, but on the ST coach to the Spurs home match the steward on the coach always tells us about the history of the club we are playing and went through the history of Spurs at length, it was probably the longest I had heard.
