When ANPR is fully operational over the entire country it will do it but I read there are still many areas that are not covered yet. That would have a devastating affect at Wild Park or Stanmer Park on Mitsubishi L200s

Thinking about this I may well be wrong but I believe that I was at my best driving between the ages of 50 - 60 having had 20+ years experience and still have the ability to drive long distances without adverse affect.

It was regular for me to drive to away games in Carlisle, Newcastle, Sunderland etc on Saturday morning arriving between 1.30 and 2.00 pm watch the game then drive back to Sussex, no problem. Now anything more than an hour demands a stop, so wife tends to drive most of the time.

I always tend to park my car the furthest away from the shop entrance as possible, as old or lazy people who have no consideration would not park that far away and will try to squeeze in to any space so they can save a few yards of walking. (old people, this is understandable) but while I am fit and I like my car without trolley and car door dents I will do this. Though if i do that and there are hundreds of free spaces around me, it does irrationally piss me off if someone then proceeds to park right next to me.

From insurance companies. I would think it includes both.
Ah of course insurance claims.
Speaking of older drivers, we had this lovely old fella who was a regular but had the misfortune of forgetting where he had parked when he returned. Had many a time walking around the car park with him looking for his ford escort. What we had him do was bring a pen with him and write the floor number on his ticket which made finding his car much easier.

We do this when going to Westfield, Shepherds Bush.
Leave the car parked at home, and get the tube in :lolol:

Re-test every driver every 10 years and if you fail, you have 3 months to re-take and pass before you lose your licence.

Every 5 years after 65.

Every 3 years after 80.

Employ more examiners paying more tax and generating more income to fix the f***ing potholes.

Job's a good 'un

I’d go along with that, but add white van drivers yearly unless they’re speed limited to 56mph

To be fair. I'd imagine that there are probably more male drivers on the road. Also, whilst men may be driving many miles, out earning a crust to look after the little lady at home, the lady driver usually only pops to the shop to make sure she has something nice for her hubby's tea, or to get her hair done or pick up a few cleaning items, so the two aren't really comparable. ???

:lolol:

As usual the best post in the thread.

I once lost my car on a ferry between two Danish islands. I thought someone had stolen it.

Reading the previous it would be strange to note that insurance premiums for those over 70 without all these wanted re tests are between £100-£200 year but for young sprogs nearer a £1000. Why?
Am sure Insurance Companies know their markets.

Easily done to be fair, especially if it's unfamiliar territory like a ferry. Go up 1 flight of stairs, return down another and everything looks different.

First time I went to Amsterdam I arrived at night by a canal. I parked there thinking it would be easy to find my car as it was by the canal. Schoolboy error, spent over an hour trying to find my car at about three in the morning, much much the worse for wear. I was so skint in those days that three of us had decided to sleep in the car. It was an MGB, fortunately I was the driver so had just an uncomfortable couple of hours sleep. A six foot mate had a nightmare trying to sleep in the back. Happy days, we were very young though.

My issue is with young whippersnappers who think it's illegal to drive within the speed limit or further than 3 inches off my back bumper.

The facts, not opinion.

Of all the accidents, men accounted for 65 per cent of them and drivers between the ages of 16-25 were responsible for 155,479 alone.

UK drivers over the age of 75 were accountable for the least amount of accidents.

Blimey. I'd always taken it as gospel that women were safer drivers. But if these are facts, men must be much safer (on average) as they drive more than twice as many miles per anum?

https://www.statista.com/statistics/376604/driving-distance-in-england-uk-by-age-and-gender/

I'm guessing over 75s do a lot less driving too?
