So Southgate didn’t pick them because he played for Palace ? Southgate never played against you for Palace, so he probably never knew about the rivalry !!
Murray was never going to be picked to make his international debut at 34, and Dunk is about 7th in line.
Much ado about nothing.

Out of eligible centre backs, in his first season in the top division:

First in blocks: https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/outfielder_block
First in interceptions: https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/interception
First in tackles: https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/total_tackle
Level second in last man tackles: https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/last_man_tackle (Behind only one who has been picked)
Third in clearances: https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/total_clearance (Behind only one who has been picked)
Sixth in headed clearances: https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/head_clearance (Behind only two who have been picked)
Third in aerial battles won:https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/aerial_won (Behind only one who has been picked).
Third in passing: https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/total_pass

Seventh in line? Take off your Red and Blue tinted glasses.

6th or 7th depending on how you rate him compared to Lascelles.

Do you ever read the posts on the thread you're contributing to before posting?

It's hilarious. You quote a Palace gimp's post which has been utterly DISMANTLED by the last contribution to the thread. It's as if you're really, REALLY trying to look stupid.

Or maybe you just don't read anything and write whatever comes into your head anyway. Never mind looking like a complete fool.

I guess it's more the latter so fair play for being stubborn as **** and totally bonkers. [emoji23]

England just do not know how to win tournament football. We are always planning for some future event where the stars align and all the "nurtured" talent on the "age group pathway" from "the top six" blow away the best of the rest of the world - it's all such repetitive bollocks. We need a Tournament manager who will pick a system that focuses on the strengths and weaknesses of our players, and then picks players irrespective of club, reputation, age or indeed division (Ryan Sessignon) who are IN FORM and can PLAY that system in their club positions. It's not qualification, it's not about gaining experience. It's all about winning seven games.

Bang.
On.

We've been sold this idealistic PUP about bringing through young England players for some mythical "golden future" - its shite. Its just an excuse for CURRENT failure. The perpetual endless "jam tomorrow" justification, as if these youthful players who STINK the place out time after time, will somehow turn into world-beaters 2-4 years later. Its tiresome and boring, and it NEVER HAPPENS.

You pick a squad according to who is doing the business NOW. F*ck "potential". F*ck "gaining experience for next time". The World Cup is less than 3 months away, so right now I couldn't give a shit about 2020 or 2022. I want a squad of players who have a chance of doing something THIS summer - and if it means including a 34-year old who can give us something different from the other identikit failures, another option, then have a bit of imagination and DO it, Fishlips.

Nothing of the sort as I rate him at about 6th or 7th in line for England but then I do not see him through blinkered blue and white glasses.

Kane/Vardy/Rashford

You then have Sterling/Alli/Lallana/Lingard types as wide players/attacking midfielders.

Best hope Kane is fit then, otherwise we don't really have anyone else in the squad who can hold up the ball. Lots of tricky little pacemeisters, running in behind, but no proper physical no9. Our creativity and passing will need to be absolutely A1 with that group up top - not really one of our strengths.

Still, as long as all the big names are in, and we can tell ourselves that they'll be amazing in another 2 years time.

The argument about the big names just doesn’t work, no matter how many times you say it.

Three players from Burnley and one Swansea and one from Bournemouth.

If Kane isn’t fit we are ****ed anyway - so who replaces him doesn’t matter.

Murray isn’t as good as any of those players named, so he shouldn’t be in the squad.

That tweet won’t have helped either.

"Thanks a lot, boys. I feel much better now."

It's just a shame that English supporters don't.

Taxi for Southgate...

(Livermore's booked it.)

Sorry, but when it comes to forwards/strikers there is a DEFINITE snobbery. If Welbeck didn't have Man U and Arsenal on his CV, he wouldn't be anywhere near the England squad. Fact. Vardy has only come to the fore following Leicesters high profile exploits.

Murray, as an Englishman, has outscored everyone other than Kane, Vardy and Sterling this season - and I obviously wouldn't leave any of them out of the squad for him. But its missing the point entirely to say he's "not as good" as the ones that have been named. He's DIFFERENT. You need a mix. Another option.

When we're 1-0 down to Belgium and we're stinking the place out with Vardy and Welbeck up front (if god forbid Kane is crocked), then whats the point of throwing on Lingard ? People are SO hung up on this number 34. It IS just a number. He's been performing and scoring this season, his game isn't about pace, never was. He gives us another option up top that none of the back-up alternatives give us.

It'd be a left-field inclusion that would draw loads of criticism, which is why it'll never happen. And its part of the reason why we'll do the square root of f-all this summer, as usual, because we'll be stuffed full of the predictable younger "expected" names, who will let us down again, but hey - they'll still be around for 2020.

Woo.
Hoo.

Was anyone picked from a club that has less than one whole season experience in the Premier League?
