Watching the quarter-final draw, I grimaced as the studio pundits purred in delight as the remaining Big Four left in, were all kept apart ( funny that ) and likely to all make the semi's ( just as last year !! ) No romance in the draw. Just pure plain predictability and sadly, that is what the media and armchair fan wants. The biggest clubs in the semi's and the final.

And when Scholes remarked that we should fast forward to the semis he was discounting the chances not just of Rochdale and Wigan in getting past Citeh and Spurs but - no disrespect to Massive - discounting the chances of - potentially - 4 Prem teams in those semis (us, Southampton, Swansea and Leicester).

I know....unbelievable arrogance....he was even talking about wanting Citeh in the Final....." wouldn't you just love it if........"

Alex Jones did at the very end of the One Show where the draw was made.

Some Palace fans were delighted, as it meant they could refer to us as Ha FC.

So, she is as dopey as she comes across.

Such a shame what has happened to Scholes. One of my favourite players of all time, and criminally mis- and underused by England.

But since retirement he has gone from being a player who wouldn't say anything, let alone boo, to your proverbial goose - to a pundit who is an utter gobshite talking total bollocks every time he opens his mouth. Extraordinary transformation.

He's not that clear and lucid when he makes his points.

It is reported that he failed recently to land the position of Oldham Manager and if he interviews anywhere vaguely similar to the way that he talks as a pundit, then that is no surprise at all.

Just read this from yesterday's Guardian...

"Brighton performed with appropriate enthusiasm and fed from Hughton’s experience, heeding his call to stay alert from the beginning and take nothing for granted against League Two opponents with a penchant for surprises. “We had to apply ourselves to show the difference,” he said, while admitting that he has been fortunate to field strong sides for the three rounds to date because of a lack of injuries. He made nine changes to face the Sky Blues but it was hardly a case of throwing untested players in and two of the beneficiaries, Leonardo Ulloa and the £14m debutant Jürgen Locadia, promptly scored. Brighton now have the kind of depth to sustain challenges on both major fronts."

Seem to have a better grasp of our squad situation than The Sunday Times.

How was he mis and underused by England? He got 66 caps? He chose to duck out of international football at the grand old age of only 30. Perhaps he didn't fancy the challenge of Lampard and Gerrard.

Luckily our crossbar stayed alert as well.
