TB supposedly made the "list" of the top 15 richest football club owners in England in May 2017. If "money talks" we should keep our Premier League status.

Seven months on and now we are in 2018, where will TB be in the list for 2018?

Should Dean Hoyle (Huddersfield), Joe Lewis (Tottenham) or Farhad Moshiri (Everton) be on the "list"?

The TB figure is just a wild guess, conveniently rounded at £1B. With his overseas interests, use of private limited companies and residency, no one will ever know.

Plus he's lent £290m to the club.

TB probably has a fair idea. Therefore, a few of his close friends and business acquaintances probably have a fair idea too.

*COUGHS*IT'S A LOT LOT MORE THAN £1BN *COUGHS* Sorry...something in my throat...

From what I and others whom I would trust have gathered, Bloom is worth well in excess of the 1 billion quoted. The terms of that report about him are rather vague too which just proves how close Bloom keeps his cards to his chest.

Ask yourself this though. He's spent over 250M so far on the Albion and will be solely funding the new Shoreham development to a similar figure. Do you honestly think Bloom is the kind of chap to risk half his fortune like that?

The money spent on us is a risk, but surely the money put towards a Shoreham development would be fairly low risk business. It's not like someone with a billion wouldn't invest that money to accumulate more. Also, do we know he's going to fund all of that himself, not use banks etc?

Once outline planning permission is given, the risks are low.

Until now, the only costs have been the land and planning application pack costs.

Tried PMing you (hun xx) but your inbox was full. Would rather not divulge source here but is one of the very few things I have any level of ITK about. I'd say the source 80-90% checks out.

A quote from the Argus that Bloom would be funding it all.

Re. the people estimating Bloom's fortune, I've heard from City brokers, bankers and hedge fund managers. I know a few other City-based Brighton fans with a far greater inside knowledge than me who have heard similar.

I wonder when the Lancing project first appeared on the horizon?

I don't for one minute think TB bankrolled the Albion just to get his foot in the door of the additional development.
But by the same token I find it hard to believe having cut the ribbon of the training facility TB looked around and said 'right what next?'

The extra development ought to be hugely profitable, esp if it is self funded  and one every wealthy developer would want to own.

I heard Legal and General might be funding the housing development.

I dont know if there is any truth in this or not but when we moved into Tha Amex a director, when discussing the financing, said that TB wasnt far behind Abramovich but as I said I am not sure if that is correct or not or just talk but he is certainly a very wealthy man, who shuns talk of his wealth from the media.

TB keeps his wealth to himself which is the only sensible thing a truly sensible wealthy person would do. He is the exact opposite of the likes of Fayed who seemed to want to ego trip all the time by exaggerating his true wealth.

I am more than happy to not ask any questions - our trajectory since TB took over gives me no cause for concern.

Oh, and, with respect to the recent thread on whether the Amex can be made bigger, TB clearly would not build a vanity stadium (remember the Darlington Arena fiasco?) and has clearly worked out what is the optimum configuraton for stadium size, ticket pricing, transfer fees and salaries.

Come on! He's Tony Bloom and he walks on water!:rock::lolol:
