[Albion] Is there such thing as a dull season supporting the Albion?

Always the chance of promotion of the threat of relegation. I'm not complaining, but it seems a long time since we had a truly dull season.

Found the Garcia team pretty dull even if we did scrape into the play offs. Can’t say I enjoyed Hyypia’s time either. Even if promotion or relegation is at stake the football can still be pretty dull........!

40 years supporting this bunch and never a dull moment. Probably mid table mediocrity was 13th in the old first division but even then we were only safe with three games to go.

What about the Wendy years?

(which is why he had to go :lolol:)

Great club to support, almost always entertaining, but there have been some dull seasons in the last ten years, namely:

07/08 Missing out on playoffs, boring football under Wilkins
09/10 Mid-table mediocrity in League One under Slade
14/15 Dismal football under Hyypia, ship steadied by Hughton.

I’d agree with the other two but 09/10 was hardly mid table mediocrity under Slade, he was sacked in the November with us in 20th place in league one. Although Poyet steadied the ship and we ended up relatively safe in 13th we were still in the relegation zone in February 2010 before we picked up 8 wins, 5 draws and 3 defeats from our last 16 games, a massive turn around in form (29 pts from those 16 games when we’d only got 30 points from our previous 30 games).

Since 70 we must have been one of the most promoted / relegated sides in the league. Up and down like Tower Bridge, great!

Hughton steadied the ship but still had multiple defeats. we weren't actually safe until Millwall lost as late as April 21st in the season.

Indeed, even in relatively quiet seasons there is hope of promotion or bed wetting of relegation at some point.

First season at the Amex, finished 10th. No dramas,

1st season at the amex was dull!it was amazing anything but dull massive crowds big cup draws in the top half of the table for most of the season and still being in with a shout for the play offs in march finishing above palace.i d like to see what you think good is if that was dull.:ffsparr:

I found last season incredibly dull. I don't know whether it was me, but every time I left my seat to get a comforting cup of Bovril we scored a goal. My other complaint? Why couldn't the team score before the 79th minute as that's the time I depart from the ground. My final point is that I also found the incessant singing and chanting tedious and repetitive, especially that ridiculous chant about "We're on our way" or some such nonsense.

Not sure how you can describe a season where you just miss out on the play-offs (without checking, seem to remember we were in with a shout with two games to go) especially when half of the team were youngster that had come through the youth ranks!

I've always maintained that being a Brighton fan is never boring. Rarely easy either...
