How nice to see such a positive performance ... for a change. It was as though someone had switched a light on and the Albion players suddenly realised that they do in fact have the ability to compete effectively in this league.

Ryan 6. Not much to do, but thought he didn't look entirely comfortable when a couple of crosses came in.
Schelotto 7. Strong performance both defensively and going forward. I think the RB position is his now.
Duffy 7. Decent enough, but a couple of misplaced headers. Would prefer to see Goldson partnering Dunk. A much more cultured player.
Dunk 8. Another excellent performance.
Bong 8. Great game. The BBC says "Bong summed up Brighton's attacking endeavour. He touched the ball more than anyone else on the pitch. The left-back spent so much time attacking that 55 of his 78 touches came in the West Ham half. With Bong a constant outlet, 54% of Brighton's play came down the left side".
Stephens 7. OK, but still a tendency to pass sideways or backwards when forward options are available ... and although his passing has recently improved he did again give the ball away too often today.
Propper 7. Great pass for Murray's goal and a decent game. Never a standout player, but efficient in what he does.
Knockaert 5. Weak link today. Some poor passing, poor decision making and poor shooting.
Izquierdo 8. Fabulous goal and looked a threat all game.
Gross 7. Very well taken goal and a good game.
Murray 8. Great goal, excellent hold-up play. Very good all-round performance.

Subs:
Ulloa 6. So good to see him back in the stripes. Decent enough 20 minutes, but clearly needs more match time.
March 7. Better than Knockaert. Shame about the miss at the end.
Kayal 7. Looked strong. Good to have him back in contention.

Ryan - 7- Some very good quick ball returns kept the game flowing
Bong - 8 - Really good game with a couple of crunching tackles both given and received
Schellotto - 7 - Really is growing in confidence even his defending was reasonable today
Dunk - 7 - Such a class act hope he stays and becomes our captain
Duffy - 7 - Good game today
Stephens - 7- Very good game today
Propper - 8- Was able to push further forward and made two goals
Izquierdo - 7 - Great goal But not the most influential player today
Knockaert - 7- Much better today maybe needed the little rest
Gross - 7- Very good topped off with a good goal
Murray - 7- As Gross

Ulloa - 7 class excited we have his assistance for the run in
Kayal - 6
March - 6

CH 9 MOM Dispite gloom mungers got selection and subs correct today

WHU look like they might be in trouble with so many injuries one team always seems to drop from mid table into the relegation pack

Ryan 6
Schelotto 7
Duffy 7
Dunk 7
Bong 8 -- rightly getting plaudits; a really strong performance, check out the comment on the BBC website about him
Knockaert 7
Stephens 7.5
Propper 8.5 MotM -- stunning performance, exquisite passing, many clever interceptions, and excellent positional play
Izquierdo 8.5 -- our goal of the season so far? Really good all round performance. I've been commenting that he hasn't put any crosses in or got to the byline; he managed to put two crosses in with his left foot, one of which was dangerous and the other half-decent
Gross 8 -- lovely assist for the first (although I thought it was Propper at the time*), cracking finish, and great all round play
Murray 8 -- top stuff and cool finish; now got three in his last 160 minutes play

Ulloa 7 -- good feet; we had some fine quick first-time passing interchanges when he got on the pitch
Kayal 7 -- good energy

We really deserved that. Top performance. Three massive points, and it slightly takes the pressure off some of our future 'six-pointers'. We're seven ahead of West Brom and, win next week, we'll be 6.5 ahead of Stoke.

Edit:* I'm taking this from the BBC website, but other posters do claim it was Propper

Ryan - 6 - pretty much a spectator
Bong - 8 - excellent game
Schellotto - 8 - great overlaps and pressing as always
Dunk - 7 - not much to do
Duffy - 7 - great goal line clearance
Stephens - 8 - higher up the pitch than usual and it showed, great performance
Propper - 7 - pretty solid, nice assist for Groß
Izquierdo - 8 - stunning goal
Knockaert - 7 - looked like the old AK, should've had a couple
Gros - 9 - good goal and excellent awareness all game
Murray - 8.5 - nice energetic display, took his goal well

Hard to pick a man of the match but I think Groß just edged it. Bong, josè, Stephens and schelotto were very close though.

Stephens and his passing. I really don't know why so many come out with this.

http://epl.squawka.com/english-premier-league/03-02-2018/brighton-vs-west-ham/matches

88% of his passes were successful today, against an average for the season of 85%. No-one else has such a successful pass rate. If he gives the ball away 'too often' why don't we complain even more about every other player, who all give it away more often?

Would love to see Gross shots to goals ratio for the season must be up there. So classy need to get him in more of those positions looks deadly when has a clear sight of goal

Stephens was brilliant today.

Shielded the defence expertly, won a stack of 50/50's, sniffed out danger, mopped up loose balls, gave their CM no space and played it simply to our game changers.

Yet again, invaluable to the team.

Ryan 6 Nothing to do and distribution was good
Schelotto 7 Gets better a he has games and making the position his own.
Duffy 7 Better than recent games
Dunk 7 Same as Duffy
Bong 8 Very good game contnr for mom
Knockaert 6.5 showed some good touches terrible shooting.
Stephens 8 best described him as doing what only Stephens does well
Propper 8.5 MOM superb all round gme.
Izquierdo 8 Good to see him do what we have been crying out all season for him to do.
Gross 8 Does a tremendous amount of work and scored a good well taken goal
Murray 7.5 Put a lot into the game and w a constant threat to WHU.
subs

Ulloa 7 showed that with games he will be an asset for us, strog quick and skilful.
Kayal 6 Did what he wa expected to do but not as well as the man he replaced.
March 6 Expected more from him and missed a glorious opportunity to score.

CH 7 Still worried about his predictable like for like substitutions which doesnt seem to reflect the game just the replce the same tired players.

Murray is getting a goal a game as Ulloa is after his place in team

Propper and Stephens - have Kayal after their places in team

What competition does to performances - what needs to happen is one bad game and one or two get dropped
